Hey All. Hope everyone is keeping well and safe. As we mentioned in our previous post, we will be running a campaign called "Advice via email". So what's in it for You? For a very low fee of just R800 (excl. VAT), you are allowed to ask us 10 legal questions in relation to the listed topics below. Each week, we will host a topic and you are allowed to pop us an email and we will thoroughly provide you with legal answers.
Sounds good right? Want to know more? Here is how it will work:
If you are interested in a topic then pop us an email at [email protected]. We will provide you with our banking details and then in response you supply us with Proof of Payment, your identity document and the list of 10 questions.

Kindly note that should you have follow up questions, this falls outside the ambit of your questions and thus a consultation will be arranged for a further fee.
We will be kicking off with this campaign on the 6th September 2021 at 8am. See below for the schedule on related topics between Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

Hey you! Yes YOU... Come here and let's chat about Lease Agreements. The focus today is on Residential Lease Agreements and the manner in which they are recorded. When entering into a lease agreement whether it be month to month or on an annual basis, please note that it would be best if your lease agreement is reduced to writing. Although we have tacit agreements that exist in law, it's always difficult to prove. It especially turns ugly if an eviction is pending. What is even more important is that the lease agreement must be signed by ALL parties, the tenant and landlord, as well initialled on each page by all parties. Now for the Crux, if you are VARYING your lease agreement, REDUCE it to writing as an ADDENDUM to the original lease agreement and then all parties to initial and sign. Please do so!
There is much more detail surrounding the legality of a lease agreement so if you do not understand, please set up an appointment with us TO avoid finding yourself in a situation that you do not want to be in.

We all know that death is never easy for our loved ones. It becomes even more complex after death once an estate needs to be administered and wound up. I have come across enough situations where complications arise because the deceased never had a WILL.
A will is a legal document directing what you would like to happen after death. It's like "ruling from the grave". So we've entered what is known as the month of love and couples are feeling all "giddy" inside and may want to enter into marriage. If (and we hope never) the marriage ends up in divorce down the line, you would have wanted to enter into your marriage on the right legal footing, as your decisions in the beginning can lead to dire circumstances in the end.
