Bills of Cost recently visited the senior caring facility at Huis Ravenzicht in Kraaifontein who houses and cares for 118 frail and sickly senior citizens, but also for the physically and mentally handicapped irrespective of their age.
Many of the elderly residents have no family and even more of them have family members that have simply forgotten them. As a result they hardly ever receive visitors and they only have each other as company. Because of the very limited family and governmental financial support, the circumstances for the people at Huis Ravenzicht looks bleak.
Resources needed to care for the frail and handicapped at Huis Ravenzicht is currently very limited and that is why we have become more involved to make a small difference to some of their lives. The warmth, love and appreciation that we received from these people were very touching and it is clear that what they need most is a little attention.
Over and above the attention and the occasional visit, these people need help, and we therefore encourage all our friends and clients to get involved with Huis Ravenzicht. Talk to the facility managers to find out what their most pressing needs are and to GIVE. Their contact number is 021 988 7454.
