Sold or transferred? They're not the same thing. π βοΈ
Many people think a sold property is a transferred one, but there's a big difference.
βοΈ Sold: your property is sold as soon as the buyer and seller sign a valid deed of sale. The signed Offer to Purchase (OTP) sets out what both parties agreed to, including the price, conditions and dates.
π Transferred: ownership only changes hands once the conveyancer registers the transfer in the buyer's name at the Deeds Office. From that day, the buyer is the legal owner.
π‘ Sold means signed. Transferred means registered.
