Restrictions are coming to an end. Even though it’s still a few weeks away (hopefully), now is the time to prepare. As Aunty Gladys says “Get ready”.

Some office, practice and COVID-19 policies and procedures will naturally change/adapt/evolve to address the current situation and life as it is now. Last year, it was mandatory masks. This year will it be mandatory vaccinations? Stay tuned.

Like everyone else, we've been affected by the current restrictions and 'stay-at-home' orders across Sydney (and nearly everywhere else). We're continuing to do what we can for our clients, but since the end of June, when the restrictions were imposed, we've suspended our face-to-face appointments (at a substantial financial cost too).

Despite this, we spend most of our day apologising to clients, referring them to the restrictions and the 'stay-at-home' orders, and turning them away. Unfortunately, not everyone is willing to accept this or be understanding. When we have to explain why, we already know there's a problem. Many are upset or disappointed. Some are angry and argumentative. Today, someone even left a Google review.

Is this what happens when people demand service and won't take 'No' for an answer? Look at our other reviews as well. This isn't a reflection of who we are or what we do. We do good for our clients, but should this make others feel entitled to service or make us obligated to serve? Do you think their rating/review was reasonable or justified?

Parramatta and me. The streets are empty. It’s so quiet.

With the rest of the office still busy but my appointment diary empty, I’m now the new errand boy. Dropping the post gives me a chance to get out of the office to play with my new toys.

Restrictions continue. I’ve spent most of the week justifying to people why I’m not taking appointments and what the ‘stay at home’ orders actually mean. It doesn’t matter if you live 10kms from my office. It doesn’t matter if you’re just going to wait outside my office door. It doesn’t matter if you’re willing to pay more. Just stay at home. Please.

Another week of restrictions. No appointments. No money.

Interestingly, the phones haven’t stopped ringing (unlike last year). People still want to come in to see us ‘now that they have the time’ - we just politely turn them away. In fact, many are surprised and disappointed that we’re not taking appointments.
