🔸Day 1🔸

We are delighted to share with you moments from the first day of the 9th edition of Summer ELSA Law School on International Investment Law held in Athens, in cooperation with the Athens Public international Law Center (Athens PIL).

We would like to express our gratitude to Anastasios Gourgourinis, Julien Fouret, Eirini- Stella Leptourgou, Alexander Leventhal and Markus Petsche for their insightful lectures.

Afterwards, the participants had some time to rest and be prepared for our cultural program and more specifically the National Drinks event which took place at the National Garden of Athens. The night closed on a more Greek way by trying souvlaki and enjoying some drinks.

🔸Opening Ceremony🔸

We are delighted to announce that on Sunday 14th of July the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the Summer ELSA Law School on International Investment Law was successfully held in Athens.

We express our gratitude to Professor Anastasios Gourgourinis, the Academic Supervisor of our Summer School. We are really grateful for his support and guidance throughout the whole project.

Also, we would like to thank Mr. John Apsouris, Group General Counsel at HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA, Ms. Olga Eftychidou , Head of Legal at Sioufas and Associates Law Firm and finally Ms. Amalia Vardakoulia, Associate at AKL Law Firm for their special opening remarks.

After the opening remarks a wine reception took place under the view of Acropolis, where we had time to get to know each other.

We are pleased to share with you moments from the opening ceremony.

Since 2016, ELSA Athens and Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL) co-organize annually the Summer ELSA Law School Athens on International Investment Law, under the academic supervision of Assistant Professor Anastasios Gourgourinis. The 9th edition of our SELS will take place from the 14th to the 21st of July 2024 in the premises of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the center of the city.

We are happy to announce we're planning a trip to Sounion!

The temple of Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea, dominates the southernmost tip of Attica, where the horizon meets the Aegean Sea. Perched on the craggy rocks of Cape Sounio, the temple is enveloped in myth and historic facts dated from antiquity until the present times. Our visit to the temple will be followed by a refreshing swim during the sunset and a fun evening at the beach!

We would like to thank Professor Anastasios Gourgourinis, the academic supervisor, for his help, support and guidance throughout the whole year!

ELSA Athens shares with you moments from the final day of our Summer School.
We would like to thank Thomas Schultz and Christian Tams who honoured us with their insightful lectures and their interesting workshops.

Moreover, the participants had the opportunity to visit the National Gallery of Athens as part of the cultural programme. Αs part of the GALA Ball, the participants enjoyed a dinner at a rooftop, viewing the Acropolis.
