Attention!

Beware of fake Certificates of Registration or individuals pretending to be registered with the National Privacy Commission.

Please note that aside from the Certificate of Registration, make sure that the company or individual you are transacting with has a Seal of Registration.

The Seal of Registration should display a QR code containing the PIC's name, the Data Protection Officer's email address, and the registration's validity date.

Mag-ingat sa mga naglipanang pekeng Certificate of Registration o mga nagpapanggap na rehistrado sa NPC.

Bukod sa Certificate of Registration, siguruhing may Seal of Registration ang kumpanya or indibidwal na inyong ka-transaksyon. 🧐

Makikita sa Seal of Registration ang QR code na naglalaman ng pangalan ng PIC, email address ng Data Protection Officer, at ang date of validity ng registration.

Kaya naman i-verify mo muna bago ka magtiwala. 😉

The National Privacy Commission (NPC) reminds the public of the responsible sharing of photos and videos containing personal data.

Under the Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), the processing or sharing of photos and videos containing personal information must have a lawful basis and must adhere to the general data privacy principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality. Unlawful processing of personal data is a violation of the DPA with corresponding administrative fines and criminal penalties as may be applicable.

With the launch of the National Privacy Commission Registration System ("NPCRS") Portal and the effectivity of NPC Circular No. 2022-04, the Commission will only accept new registration, amendments, and renewal of registration through the NPCRS portal.
