CONDITIONS FOR APPLYING ENTRY APPROVAL LETTER FOR FOREIGNERS IN HO CHI MINH CITY AND HANOI

👉 Clear and legal purpose of entry: Travel, visiting relatives, business, working, investment, study, participating in conferences, seminars, or other activities in accordance with Vietnam law.

👉 Invited or sponsored by an agency, organization or individual in Vietnam:
+ The sponsor organization in Vietnam must hold a business license and other related documents.
+ The sponsor individual must have relationship certificate (ex: marriage certificate, birth certificate) or clear reason for invitation is required.

👉 Passport is still valid: Passport must be valid for over than 6 months from the expected date of entry into Vietnam.

👉 Not subject to be banned from entering Vietnam.

👉 Public Service Portal Account: Both the sponsoring company and the individual must have an active account, as this is now a mandatory requirement for submitting Pre-Visa Approval applications through the online Public Service Portal.

IMPORTANT NOTES WHEN SUBMITTING A SINGAPORE VISA APPLICATION IN HO CHI MINH & HANOI – 2026

When applying for a Singapore visa in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, there are several important points to keep in mind to ensure a smooth and hassle-free process:

👍 Original documents are returned immediately: The originals you present for verification at the visa counter will be returned right after checking. You don’t need to worry about your passport being held by the Singapore Embassy or Consulate during the processing period.

👍 Visa validity starts from the submission date: Once issued, the visa’s validity cannot be adjusted. Avoid applying too early, make sure your submission date aligns closely with your intended travel dates.

👍 Submission in Ho Chi Minh City: The Singapore Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City is relatively flexible regarding submission dates. You only need to submit all required documents, and the Consulate will process your application accordingly.

👍 Submission in Hanoi: For applications in Hanoi, your intended departure date must be within one month from the submission date. Applications submitted more than one month in advance will not be accepted by the Singapore Embassy in Hanoi.

👍 Health and arrival declaration: All travelers must submit a health declaration to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) via https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard at least three days before entering Singapore.

RENEWING WORK PERMIT IN VIETNAM – WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR WORK PERMIT RENEWAL ACCORDING TO THE NEW DECREE NO. 219/2025/ND-CP

There are common cases of work permit reissuance, such as when the permit is damaged, lost, or requires updates to the employee’s full name, nationality, or passport number. In addition, there are several special cases eligible for reissuance as follows:

If a foreign employee currently holds a valid work permit and falls under the special cases listed below, they may be eligible to renew their Work Permit (instead of a Fresh application), which can reduce certain documentation requirements compared to applying for a new work permit.

👉 According to Clause 1, Article 20: A foreign employee who already holds a valid work permit and wish to work for another employer, provided the job position and job title remain the same as stated in the existing work permit.

👉 According to Clause 2, Article 20: A foreign employee holding a valid work permit and wishes to change their job position or working form stated in the current permit without changing the employer.

👉 According to Clause 3, Article 20: A foreign employee whose work permit has been extended once wishes to continue working for the same employer in the same position and field.

HOW TO RENEW VIETNAM WORK PERMIT
