Việt Nam chính thức gia nhập Công ước Apostille
Việt Nam đã gia nhập Công ước La Hay về Apostille, đánh dấu một bước tiến quan trọng trong việc đơn giản hóa thủ tục chứng nhận giấy tờ công trong giao dịch quốc tế.
Theo đó, kể từ ngày 11/09/2026, các giấy tờ công được cấp tại các quốc gia là thành viên của Công ước Apostille và đã được chứng nhận Apostille sẽ không còn phải thực hiện thủ tục hợp pháp hóa lãnh sự khi sử dụng tại Việt Nam. Ngược lại, giấy tờ công do cơ quan có thẩm quyền của Việt Nam cấp khi sử dụng tại các quốc gia thành viên của Công ước cũng sẽ được công nhận theo cơ chế tương tự.
Sự thay đổi này được kỳ vọng sẽ giảm đáng kể thời gian, chi phí và thủ tục hành chính cho cá nhân và doanh nghiệp trong các hoạt động như đầu tư, học tập, lao động, thương mại và giao dịch dân sự có yếu tố nước ngoài.
Theo kế hoạch hiện nay, Chính phủ Việt Nam dự kiến ban hành Nghị định hướng dẫn thực hiện Công ước Apostille vào khoảng tháng 6 hoặc tháng 7 năm 2026 nhằm hoàn thiện khung pháp lý cho việc triển khai trên thực tế.

Vietnam Accedes to the Apostille Convention
Vietnam has acceded to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Apostille Convention), marking an important step toward simplifying the authentication of public documents in international transactions.
Accordingly, from 11 September 2026, public documents issued in member states of the Apostille Convention and bearing an Apostille certificate will no longer be required to undergo consular legalization for use in Vietnam. Conversely, public documents issued by competent authorities in Vietnam will be recognized for use in other member states under the same Apostille mechanism.
This development is expected to significantly reduce administrative procedures, time, and costs for individuals and businesses engaging in cross-border activities such as investment, education, employment, commercial transactions, and other civil matters involving foreign elements.
According to the current plan, the Vietnamese Government is expected to issue a Decree providing guidance on the implementation of the Apostille Convention around June or July 2026, thereby completing the legal framework for its practical application.
