After 24 years of service as an Assistant Prosecutor, he has returned to the private practice of law. Marty Hume is an accomplished and respected attorney, who has been practicing law for over 40 years. With over 24 years of public law experience, serving as both a Mahoning County Prosecutor as well as Youngstown's Law Director, Marty has dedicated his professional life to serving our community an
d upholding the law. Born at Northside Hospital, Marty and his family have always been dedicated to Youngstown. Marty's father and grandfather owned Hume's Furniture Stores, and Marty resides in Youngstown with his wife, Kim. A skilled student, Marty graduated cm laude from Wesleyan University with his bachelor's degree and went on to attend The Ohio State University College of Law. During his first year at OSU, Marty received the prestigious Best Brief Award in Moot Court Competition. Throughout his distinguished career, Marty has served as Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, Special Prosecutor in Youngstown Municipal Court, and as counsel for Northeast Ohio Legal Services. Marty has successfully prosecuted DUI, domestic violence, traffic, and felony criminal cases in the years he served as Prosecutor. He holds memberships to the National District Attorneys Association and the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. Also a skilled trial attorney, Marty has experience litigating almost every type of case. As a true reflection of his remarkable skill and dedication, Marty was chosen by his peers to be included in the Best Lawyers in America and was named an Ohio Super Lawyer. Marty is admitted to the Ohio Bar and is a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Marty also holds admission to the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
