Selling Your Home? The Paint Color Could Be Costing You Buyers.

Sometimes a can of paint can completely change how buyers see your home.

Take a look at these two photos. Same bathroom. Same tile. Same cabinets. Same granite.

The biggest change? The wall color.

When you’re getting ready to sell, paint isn’t just about making a room “pretty.” The right color can help existing finishes work together, make a space feel brighter and more updated, and completely change the first impression.

And that first impression matters more than ever because buyers shop online first.

Before they ever schedule a showing, they’re scrolling through photos and deciding:

Do I want to see this one?
Or do I keep scrolling?

A color you love may work perfectly while you’re living in your home, but when it’s time to sell, sometimes a more neutral color helps buyers see the home instead of the paint.

Okay, I might start a debate with this one… 🍣

Woodman’s vs. Jewel for grocery store sushi. Who wins?

For me, it’s Woodman’s in North Aurora! They make the sushi fresh throughout the day, there are so many options, and the guys behind the counter are always so nice and friendly.

When I’m out showing homes and need a quick lunch or dinner, this has become one of my favorite stops.

So now I need to know…

🍣 Team Woodman’s or Team Jewel?

Or is there another grocery store with even better sushi? Tell me where because I’ll happily put it to the test!

There’s something powerful about looking at failure that way.

Not everything we try is going to work out exactly as planned. But there’s always something to take from the experience. You learn, you grow, you adjust, and you bring those lessons with you to the next opportunity.

And I love what she says about working without fear.

Take the chance. Try the thing. Do the work.

If it works, wonderful.

If it doesn’t, learn from it and keep going.

Dolly gave us so much more than incredible music. She gave us humor, wisdom, kindness, and a way of looking at life that was uniquely hers.

What a beautiful reminder to keep going, keep learning, keep laughing, and keep doing what you love.

🌭 Why Yorkville? Episode 3: Home Plate Hot Dogs

A Yorkville summertime tradition for more than 30 years!

For this episode of Why Yorkville, I spoke with Jeff and Pam Hahn, the owners of Home Plate Hot Dogs, the beloved seasonal hot dog stand located right in Town Square Park.

Jeff, a local middle school math teacher, has become known around town as “the hot dog man,” serving up Chicago style hot dogs and friendly conversation from this old school outdoor stand.

Home Plate was even named the best hot dog spot in Illinois by Google Maps!

It’s simple, it’s local, and it’s one of those places that makes Yorkville feel like Yorkville. Grab a Chicago style dog, find a spot in the park, and enjoy one of our community’s longtime summer traditions. Home Plate Hotdogs
