Harty Jewell, PLLC is pleased to announce that attorney and Co-Founder, Erin E. Jewell was recently elected Secretary of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Women Trial Lawyers Caucus (WTLC). Jewell has been an active AAJ member throughout her career and looks forward to continuing her service to AAJ and the WTLC in this position. The WTLC comprises 25% of AAJ's membership and focuses on education, membership, fundraising, public service and networking.

Harty Jewell, PLLC proudly supports AAJ and stands with other trial lawyers in support of AAJ's mission to support and improve access to justice, including the Seventh Amendment right to trial by jury.

Harty Jewell, PLLC is pleased to share that Co-Founder and Partner, Erin E. Jewell, was recently admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Jewell joins her law partner, William W.C. Harty, in admission to practice before the Supreme Court.

While millions of attorneys practice in the United States, only a fraction become members of the Supreme Court Bar. This exclusivity stems from the specific requirements of experience, good standing, and endorsement by current members.

On January 21, these dedicated advocates and caucus leaders reached a major milestone in their legal careers, officially joining the highest court in the nation. Their admission was made possible by a motion from AAJ CEO Linda Lipsen, a testament to their commitment to justice and the civil trial bar.

Today is Mesothelioma Awareness Day and Team Harty Jewell wears blue to raise awareness about mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma is a cancer caused by asbestos exposure, and many people in our community have been impacted by this disease due to the prevalence of asbestos-containing products in industry in Hampton Roads.

Mesothelioma Awareness Day began as a way to raise awareness about this rare and deadly cancer, promote research efforts, and provide support to those affected by mesothelioma. Since its inception, Mesothelioma Awareness Day has been observed annually on September 26th to educate the public about mesothelioma and advocate for better treatments and prevention.
