The use of online dating services has grown exponentially over the years. As of 2015, five (5%) percent of all committed relationships in the U.S. come from online dating. That is a huge number of couples.

Many people decide to use online dating services to meet online and then pursue those relationships, moving from the virtual to the physical world.

If you decide to use a dating or similar service, you are urged to investigate the company and to the extent possible do basic online research as to their reputation for quality and integrity.

From a legal standpoint, there is no impediment from using a dating service or even a marriage broker, so long as you disclose to the U.S. Government that you have used such a service in meeting your fiancee or spouse.
