The YCASE Art Walk officially kicks off 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. First Friday February 6th at our office and ten (10) other downtown venues. The York Community Art Scholars Exhibition is a competition between eleven (11) local high schools and this year we display (twenty-five) 25 submissions from York Suburban. All venues will also be open Saturday February 7th from Noon – 4 p.m. and two guided tours available at noon and 2 p.m. starting at Marketview Arts. We included a map and addresses of the locations where you can see the art for the next few weeks during the office hours of the entity displaying.

All our artwork is up, and we invite you to visit us today. We have included some pics as a sneak preview. Our hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. M-Thurs. and we close Fridays at 3 p.m. A word to the wise, there is a lot of snow adjacent to downtown street parking spaces so remember the city parking garages are an option.

All those that walk past our office know that we well feed the birds (& squirrels) here. Presently we have our feeders hanging above our (handicapped) ramp on the Philadelphia Street side of our building. Fairly soon we will have a heated bird bath/drinking station outside for the critters.
Attached for your enjoyment are some pictures my son Roan took of the critters that dine from our feeders (and the food we place on the ground) in our back yard. I think my favorite pic is the squirrel (find him) I call the “backyard porch pirate”. A ground hog, rabbits, vols and chippies, along with a wide variety of birds, know they can dine and drink at our place for free.
On this very cold night please try to feed and hydrate these beautiful souls.

Our kids have P.J. day at school so we decided so can we, at the office! Hope you and your clan are also having a great 2025 Christmas season. A very Merry Christmas to you and your families! This past year was our best year ever on many levels. Thank You God. And Thank You to you, our clients, for trusting us with your Wills, and the Estates of your dearly departed loved ones.

New News! We added a southern lady to our staff who is now our fourth full-time paralegal handling estate administration. Meet Lori Graham, from Red Lion, who is reading Twas the Night Before Christmas to the crew. Our clients appreciate her folksy comfortable exchanges with them.

More New News! One of the ladies in this picture has a new last name. If you have not heard, may I please introduce you to Kelly (Billet) McHenry who married a great guy named Patrick on November 12th, 2025. The newly weds celebrated their union with a honeymoon in St. Thomas.

Left to Right are: Tori Zumbrum, Erin Sipple, Lori Graham, Kelly McHenry, Melissa Reilly, and Rich Reilly.

If you are or know an experienced estate paralegal, please share the following job opportunity with them. We have placed this ad over the last month with Indeed and the York County Bar Association and have collected a few good resumes. Before we start the interview process in early Fall we wanted resumes of all experienced and interested parties. Thanks! -Rich

Merry Christmas everyone!

Last Thursday was P.J. Day here at our office. Kelly (center) whose been here a year now read Twas the Night Before Christmas to Erin, Tori, Missy and me. Thankfully no one napped during working hours, and all our scheduled appointments (and walk-ins) took our silly fun in stride.

Every day we do our best to guide you through the preparation of your estate planning documents or the administration of your loved one’s estate. We take our work seriously, not ourselves. Thank You! for your business. Peace and Love to your family.

Here is a first. All our kids are here working/visiting the office today. A reminder of how wonderful and short Summer & Life are.

Center in the pic is Erin with her son Daniel (7). To the left is Tori, her son Robert (19) is at his job today. Next to the left is Kelly and her son Brendon (9) and daughter Lucy (7). My clan is on the right with Roan (18) next to me and Ryker (14) next to my wife of 20 years Melissa who is our office administrator. It makes me chuckle how they tower over her.

May your families have a wonderful weekend and a great (long) Fourth of July next Thursday. BTW our office will be closed on Friday the 5th.

Bittersweet day for us here last Friday, March 1st, 2024. Our team leader, office administrator and receptionist, Sandy Quigley (photo center) retired after 6+ years here. Her husband Randy is about to retire as well, and they are both excited to enjoy their well-deserved retirements, beginning with a Church mission trip to Alaska in June! The picture is from our goodbye luncheon at Iron Horse last Friday.

Two new faces are in this picture next to Sandy. The first is my wife Melissa (next to me) a nurse of 30 years, who has been training with us for almost 6 months to step into Sandy’s role. If you call us or visit it is most likely her cheery voice will be the first you hear. The second new face is Kelly Billet, who has been with us for a month. She is a local paralegal with over 15 years of legal experience, with emphasis in the field of estate administration. Kelly’s addition to our estate paralegals, Erin Sipple and Tori Zumbrum (also pictured) gives this office an impressive team of friendly, highly skilled professionals that will guide your family through the paperwork, taxes, responsibilities (hassles) of administering an estate after the death of a loved one.

November 1st is my favorite day ever. Today is my trifecta.

On November 1st, 2001, (twenty-two (22) years ago today) I had an 8 a.m. blind (breakfast) date at Central Market with Melissa Jean Hess. She was 32 and I was 39, at those ages folks don’t mess around, you get right to the point. No lawyer or Judge has ever grilled me harder or been more direct then Missy was that morning. The cross examination had to take a break over lunch so I could attend the funeral of attorney Chris Ness. Our second date, on the same day, that evening, was at Charlie & Johnny’s (now the Cove). Those that know me know that I do not generally dress up. So, my game collapsed when Missy showed up at the restaurant in a dress and I was my bum self. I said, “we didn’t agree to dress up.” She kicked off her shoes and walked into the restaurant barefoot in her pretty little dress. I hooked my wagon to that star.

The first two pics are of us getting married (twenty (20) years ago today) on November 1st, 2003, in our backyard. The third pic is our official office “grand opening” (ten (10) years ago today) on November 1st, 2013. And the last picture from this Summer are the gifts the Lord gave to our relationship.

We deal with death here a lot. If it’s the estate of a spouse, I always ask how the couple met and about the courtship, and each surviving spouse smiles like I do today!

Happy Halloween Eve! Attached are three pictures and an update from the Reilly clan! The first, as promised, is the clan at the Bearcat Classic Golf tournament. As anticipated it was a blast and our $2K contribution to sponsor a hole helped result in a net profit raised of over $13K for Devers Elementary School, see second photo. Finally, the last photo of my youngest hosting the back of our 20-year-old Ford F-150 pickup truck at our churches Trunk or Treat this past weekend.

In addition, our office, as promised, contributed our $1K award for the downtown “Better York / Appell Beautification Award” to the York Salvation Army kids after school program.

Happy Halloween To All!
