Former Attorney General of the great state of Oklahoma and LegalShield Oklahoma Provider Attorney at Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison and Lewis, named partner Mike Turpen, along with LegalShield Provider Attorney from the great state of Ohio at Maguire Schneider and Hassay, named partner Wayne Hassay introduced Attorney General DeWine.
In his introduction, Hassay remarked, “DeWine is a tireless crusader for the state of Ohio. He’s on the front lines of fighting America’s tragic he**in epidemic. He has completely revolutionized our bureau of criminal investigation so we can catch the bad guys. He has and will root out corruption, spawn economic activity and protect consumers in every corner of the state. Attorney General DeWine is among the all-time great public servants: county prosecutor, Ohio Legislature, U.S. House of Representatives, Ohio Lieutenant Governor, U.S. Senator and now Ohio Attorney General.”
In addressing the convention, DeWine said, “I want to thank you all for what you do and all the people that you enable to have something that’s very, very important – and that’s good representation, whether it’s in court or providing advice. So, all the millions of people that you provide that service to is a great thing.”
DeWine continued, “When I served in the United States Senate for 12 years, I had the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world to visit emerging democracies. We found the biggest challenge for these countries was to have a legal system that actually works. A rule of law, a respect for law. There are countries where it takes forever to get to court and if you do get to court you aren’t really sure what will happen. So as American citizens, this is one of the great things we have and it distinguishes a democracy like ours from others trying to achieve that. But an integral part of that is in fact what you all do. And, that is provide people with legal counsel and provide people with legal advice.”
