Walking the homesite with my clients 🤩😍

One of my favorite stages of new construction is before the drywall goes up. I enjoy seeing everything that will eventually be hidden behind the walls: the electrical wiring, plumbing, gas lines (if still available), framing, and building materials. It helps us better understand how the home is built and the quality behind it.

Construction-site attire: comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes! Walking through every stage with my client, because every detail matters before a house becomes a home. 👷🏻‍♀️🏡

How did my upbringing shape the real estate agent I became?

There is a Chinese saying:

“生不带来，死不带去。”

We come into this world with nothing, and we take nothing with us when we leave. Money is simply a tool created by human beings to make daily life and economic exchange more convenient, orderly, and fair. It should serve our lives. It should never become the purpose of our lives.

Growing up, whenever my grandmother gave me money, I never wanted to count it or focus on it. To me, money was never the center of attention.

That same philosophy guides my career today. Commission is usually the last thing on my mind. I don’t begin by calculating what I will receive. I begin by asking: What does this person need? What are they hoping to achieve? How can I help them get there?

When the intention is genuine and you work wholeheartedly for others, the outcome and the reward will naturally follow.

Focus on people first…everything else comes afterward.

Not everyone will understand or believe this philosophy, and that’s okay. Those who have known me for many years already know who I am and how I work.

🚦 Home-Buying Process 👉 Red Lights vs. Green Lights

Not every issue discovered during the home-buying process should scare you away.

🟢 Some items are minor or cosmetic. You can decide whether to take them on based on your personal preferences, budget, and available time.

🔴 Other issues may be structural, costly, or simply too overwhelming. In those situations, I may advise my Buyers not to proceed.

The key is knowing the difference. Understand what you are taking on and determine whether the home 🏡 is truly right for you.

Sometimes it’s okay to move forward. 👍
Sometimes the best decision is to walk away. 👎
