This is an amazing civil rights story from our own backyard, "the Birmingham of the Northwest".

"Our continuing struggle for racial justice in modern times requires us to challenge and overcome the trope that today’s America is post-racial—that slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, school and housing segregation, voting impediments, employment discrimination, and disparate law enforcement practices are things of the past, long since remedied by civil rights laws, court decisions, and social policies. As symbolized in the iconic photo of a jubilant protester carrying a Confederate flag in the halls of Congress on Jan. 6, the atavistic appeal of racial dominance has not disappeared. It may, in fact, be ascendant."

Depression is a common side effect resulting after an injury or disability. Don't be afraid to reach out to loved ones or mental health professionals for support. For those navigating through a legal claim involving injury or disability, speak with your attorney about how depression is affecting you and how this may impact your claim.

At 22, Karl Knights has been living with depression for more than eight years. At university, he spiraled into the longest depressive episode he had ever faced, until one night he broke down and everything changed. Enter his mind to find out how it felt.
