Today, the Washington Supreme Court announced the confirmation of attorney Athan Papailiou's appointment to a three-year term on Washington's Limited Licensed Legal Technician (LLLT) Board. The LLLT Board is a first-of-its-kind program established to help address the unmet legal needs of residents who cannot afford a lawyer. A former member of the Board of Governors for the Washington State Bar Association, Athan looks forward to continuing his work promoting access to justice and public service. Pasted below are excerpts of the letter from the Chief Justice announcing the appointment.

Dear Mr. Papailiou:

The LLLT Board has nominated you for appointment as a member of the LLLT Board, and the Superior Court Judges' Association supports that appointment. The Supreme Court's Administrative Committee has confirmed your appointment. Your term starts October 1, 2021 and expires on September 30, 2024.
