Hartman, Valeriano, Magovern and Lutz P.C., a Wyomissing full service law firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Michelle Mayfield to the position of Partner with the firm.

Attorney Mayfield specializes in municipal law, zoning, land use, litigation and code enforcement. Michelle also has extensive experience in land use and development matters focusing on issues relating to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.

Ms. Mayfield received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law in 1997. Attorney Mayfield previously served as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Reading and currently serves as special counsel for the City of Reading including various boards and the Planning Commission.

In addition to practicing law, she is a frequent presenter on building and property maintenance code enforcement matters across the Commonwealth.

Attorney Mayfield is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania District Court. Additionally, she is admitted to the State Bar of West Virginia and Southern District Court of West Virginia. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and Berks County Bar Associations.

The Hartman Valeriano Law Firm volunteered with level 4 nurses from Reading Hospital by donating to soldiers in Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The firm assisted by providing snacks, hygiene products, laundry pods, dryer sheets, ground coffee, and a monetary contribution.

Sharon Riley has been a Legal Assistant since 1981 and has been associated with the law firm for the past 25 years working with various attorneys handling Estate administration. Sharon very much enjoys meeting and working with families to administer Estates, and assisting during their time of loss. Aside from Estate administration, Sharon also assists Paul T. Essig, Esquire with various legal matters.

Sharon is married and has three children, Jenna, Brendan, and Meghan, and is a grandmother to two grandsons, Andrew and Hudson. Outside of the office, Sharon enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, the outdoors, golfing, taking long walks, shopping, and improving and decorating her home.

Marianne Phillips has worked at Hartman, Valeriano, Magovern & Lutz P.C. for the past 15 years. As a young girl she was enrolled in Central Catholic's high school where she developed her passions in reading, crafts, and sewing. After high school, she attended the American Institute of Banking as well as Penn State for her paralegal courses. She decided to go to school to become a paralegal after she started to do estate work. Additionally, she taught Introduction to the Paralegal Profession at Reading High School as a night class. She taught a class in flower arranging at RACC through their continuing education program.
