The State's Attorney is frustrated that we don't keep people in jail awaiting trial for non violent offenses.

Seems weird.

Seems like you would just get the case to trial and send him/her to prison if you were able to prove them guilty.

The McHenry County state's attorney says it is "absurd" that a Crystal Lake man, who has racked up 12 separate felony cases against him in less than a year, cannot be held in custody due to the Illinois SAFE-T Act.

Great news for DCFS workers, apparently they will be paid $350,000 per year after this ruling, because I am pretty sure no one would take the job for less than that, considering the liability the court is more than willing to place on employees.

I wonder if they will get 2 months paid vacation?

An appeals court has rejected an appeal by a DCFS worker convicted of failing to protect AJ Freund, the 5-year-old Crystal Lake boy murdered by his mother, saying he had a duty to protect the child.

I want you to think about this for a minute:

It was an "open" question in the mind of some Florida Lawyers and a judge, whether attorneys could meet with their clients, while at the stupid made up jail.

Really? It was a close question? It was one that needed to be put in front of a judge?

If you are going to law school, I think Florida should be your choice. They are none too bright down there. You will stand out as an amazing brain.

Authorities must also provide detainees access to free and private legal phone calls and allow lawyers to visit unannounced

A retired police officer says that forfeiture weakens criminals.

A couple of things:

1. retired police officers should keep their yaps shut.

3. this is just pure government theft, and will only be stopped when someone more powerful stops it, and that won't happen for a while.

Some want Illinois' civil asset forfeiture system abolished. A retired police chief says it’s “one of the few tools that weakens criminal networks financially.” The Chicago Sun-Times went to Courtroom 1707 to see the system in action.

Am I understanding that possession of 38 bullets caused a SWAT response, and a street to close?

The State's Attorney filed a four count indictment (because there were four types of bullets. I really feel like they missed their "shot" they could have filed a 38 count indictment.

Remember: you are safer because of this police/state's atty action.

The SWAT response and shelter-in-place order in Lake in the Hills Thursday morning was due to a search warrant on a 20-year-old man allegedly possessing 38 rounds of pistol and rifle ammunition without a FOID card.
