Unfortunately we learned late today that a radical activist judge in Dane county denied our motion to enjoin the wolf hunt case being brought by a host of anti-hunting groups. It is likely that this same judges ruling will now place the November hunt in question. Hunter Nation was unfortunately the only hunting group that tried to intervene in this case. We will keep you posted on what our next steps are but there is no way around the fact that this is a setback for Wisconsin hunters, farmers, pet owners and families.

County Line Station
Fishing Report – 2020.07.13
Hwy 70 W. ~ Minocqua

Everyone should be aware of invasive species and don't spread them, make sure and clean boat and trailer of all w**ds. Make sure to check signs on boat landing for size limits and bag limits on each lake. If you are fishing the Minocqua Chain the walleye bag limit is zero, catch and release only for one more year.

Walleyes, some really nice ones are being caught on jigs ( I like the Invasion Weedless Jigs}most fishermen are using jumbo leeches and crawlers because they are easier to keep alive in the heat. Some are also having some success using jigs and plastics or Rattle Trap type lures, they seem to be producing and are great when searching for fish. The walleyes are a little scattered on the deep w**d edges and structure, have to work for them.

Northern have also been active early and late because of the heat using Mepps and similar lures. Some are also using big pike minnows at night and are producing some nice fish. The hot weather has slowed everything during the day (fishermen are slowing during hot hours too.}

Bass are active and being caught out of the w**ds and on the deeper edges. Smallmouth are holding in deeper water on humps and bars. Most are using medium sized plastics or spinner baits. The hot weather is hard on all of these fish, releasing them is not a sure thing when water is so warm

Crappies are doing well some nice catches coming on small jigs with crappie minnows if you can keep them alive. Some guys doing well on smaller crappie jigs and plastic. Lot of nice ones in the 12 to 14 inch range. Most guys are getting them a little deeper in the w**ds. Have to look around.

Bluegills are doing great too, limits of nice one coming one small jigs or just plain hook tipped with worm or small leeches. They are in the w**d beds

Musky fishing has come to a standstill because if the high water temperatures. It is really hard on them and releasing them is far from a sure thing. They will not survive to fight another day. It is best to put off musky fishing until some cooler water temps are reported.

While you are picking up your fishing supplies, we have crappie minnows, Fatheads, Walleye suckers, Walleye mix, Chubs, Shiners, and Northern suckers along with nite crawlers, worms, leeches and more. Check out our huge supply of snacks, beer, soda, liquor and fresh sandwiches and salads. Fill your boat and vehicle with gas while you are there. Also check out all of the new changes and upgrades inside the store. County Line Store, Hwy 70 W Minocqua. Check back for regular fishing reports.Any question just ask,

Bright, sunny warm day on the water today with Bill and Bob. Caught the nicest mess of Perch I have had in a long time. They were all between 9.5" and 12". They will be having a great perch breakfast tomorrow...
