One of our favorite questions customers ask is: “What do people do with the box after?”
The answer is usually pretty simple — they keep it.
And honestly, we love that.
When we first started making wooden gift boxes, we wanted the packaging to feel just as thoughtful as what was inside. Not something to tear open and throw away five minutes later, but something beautiful enough to stay around.
Over time we’ve heard so many stories from customers about how they reuse them.
Some keep them on a shelf as part of their home decor. Some use them on a desk to hold notebooks, pens, or everyday little things. Some tuck them into a closet with old photographs, handwritten notes, cards from loved ones, wedding keepsakes or family recipes. And sometimes they become memory boxes for a baby’s first items.
We’ve even had customers come back years later and tell us they still use their Dusky Lark box in their home.
That’s probably one of the most rewarding parts for us.
Because while the gift inside matters, we’ve always hoped the box would feel like part of the gift too — something useful, lasting, and worth keeping long after the moment has passed.
