If you're not sure what to do with them, consider donating them to the American War Letters Archive at Chapman University. At the Archive, the letters will be preserved and studied by scholars as the important first-person historical documents that they are. More information here.

The Center for American War Letters at Chapman University houses more than 90,000 letters from soldiers and their families spanning 230 years and dozens of wars and conflicts.
