Celebrating Law Day in Lynn!
Today was an incredible honor and privilege as we celebrated Law Day — a tradition that dates back to 1958 when President Eisenhower established it to reaffirm our nation’s commitment to the rule of law and the principles of justice, equality, and democracy.
We started the day at Lynn District Court, participating in a mock trial presentation that brought the courtroom to life for students and community members. It was a powerful way to show how our legal system works and to demonstrate the importance of due process and civic engagement.
Later, I had the inspiring opportunity to speak with 75 bright and curious 5th graders at Hood Elementary School in Lynn. Their questions, energy, and interest in how the law impacts their lives reminded me why Law Day matters: it’s about ensuring the next generation understands and values the role of law in a free society.
Thank you to all the educators, court staff, and community leaders who made these events possible. Here’s to building a future rooted in justice and understanding.
