Celebrating New Year's Eve with another Agosto Law victory!

A few months ago, our client was falsely accused of Domestic Violence. However, after an early morning trial this morning, our office successfully got the case DISMISSED.

This is a sad day for our nation. The Supreme Court’s decision not only permits the use of racial profiling by federal agents seeking to detain suspected illegal immigrants, but actively encourages it. Federal agents are now encouraged to stop and harass Hispanics for something as simple as speaking Spanish or even the color of their skin. This ruling is an afront to our nation and to the millions of immigrant citizens who helped build this country.

Shame on the Trump Administration and shame on the U.S. Supreme Court for allowing such a blatantly race-targeted law to pass. Now more than ever, the Hispanic community needs to be careful when dealing with law enforcement, whether they are a citizen or not.

UPDATE
All Orange and Osceola County courts will be CLOSED on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10.

Jurors who were summoned to report on October 9 and 10 – your service is complete. All hearings and mediations set for October 9 and 10 will be rescheduled.

We will continue to closely monitor the storm and its impact on our area but anticipate returning to normal operations on Friday, October 11.

PSA: Maitland Police Department - Florida is cracking down on speed limits next week. Drive safely and with extra caution if you are traveling in the Maitland area.

Next week the Maitland Police Department will join law enforcement agencies across five states for the Operation Southern Slow Down speed enforcement campaign.

The week-long effort will step up efforts to stop motorists who exceed posted speed limits on city streets. Aggressive driving endangers not only the life of the speeders, but also all of the people on the road around them.

In 2022, Florida had 13,296 vehicle crashes because of speeding and aggressive driving. Speeding contributed to 10.5 % of all crash fatalities statewide, resulting in more than 368 fatalities.

Nationwide, more than 12,000 people died from speed-related traffic crashes in 2022. More than 300,000 people were injured.

Always follow speed limits. Watch for speed limit signs. Use extra caution in school zones, residential areas, and on secondary roads. Plan trips, and give yourself plenty of time while travelling roadways. Watch your vehicle speedometer.

🎉We are very excited to announce the newest addition to our legal team: our associate attorney, Ms. Loilette Pelier! 🎉

Ms. Pelier is a Cuban American who was born and raised in South Florida. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Ms. Pelier graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, as well as obtaining an academic certificate in Pre-Law Skills and Professional Values. Ms. Pelier then obtained her Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2021, where she was a competing member of her school's Trial Team, as well as a member of the Journal of Complex Litigation. Ms. Pelier began her legal career working at a first-party property and personal injury litigation firm and has experience in workers' compensation, first-party property, and personal injury matters.

Ms. Pelier now focuses primarily on family law and criminal defense matters but lends her expertise to many other legal issues you or your family may have. As Agosto Law’s new associate attorney, Ms. Pelier will be working directly with you, and the rest of our team, on your case.

CASE DISMISSED!
GEICO Insurance sued Mr. Adam for $15,000.00 stemming from a motor vehicle accident. When Mr. Adam couldn't pay, GEICO had his driver's license suspended, resulting in Mr. Adam losing his job...
