Excited to announce that our practice now includes collaborative divorce! Read below to learn more about this low-conflict alternative to traditional divorce that allows families to move forward with respect and integrity.

Collaborative divorce is a completely transparent process where both parties work together to resolve their differences without the lengthy, costly, and contentious process of divorce litigation. Collaborative divorce gives the parties more control over the divorce process and allows them to customize a settlement agreement (and parenting plan) unique to their specific needs, rather than having a judge dictate the terms of their divorce. Collaborative divorce also helps the parties maintain their privacy as sensitive financial documents need not be filed with the court as is typically required in the case of traditional divorce.

As part of the collaborative divorce process, attorneys work together to settle the case rather than battling each other and preparing for litigation in court. The collaborative team also includes a mental health neutral, to help facilitate the process, as well as a financial neutral, who will help the parties organize and understand all of the financial information, implications of certain financial decisions, and help create a plan for settlement that is fair for both parties.

Most collaborative divorces can be completed in 4-6 months, or even sooner.
