This is important in every judicial district. Keeping the entire population of the district from voting for judges that rule on very important matters in their lives and community. These issues include domestic cases (divorce, alimony, equitable distribution, and custody), injury cases, criminal matters, and juvenile matters (both DSS and delinquency). Keeping political parties off the ballot and allowing full districts to vote, the most qualified judges can be elected.

Bill would mean that Mecklenburg voters won’t elect judges who may preside in their cases.
