My office was saddened to hear of the passing of Circuit Court Judge John Cameron last night. Judge Cameron was a great man and who treated everyone with dignity and respect. His family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

There’s a very useful but little-known statute in TN that even great criminal defense lawyers are often unaware of. Essentially, if you have an old misdemeanor case and you were never served with the warrant and find out about it more than five years after being charged, your case may be eligible for dismissal. You should always consult with a lawyer, however, because limitations can apply as you will not be able to get your case dismissed on your own.

Congrats to my friend and local Franklin County bar member Joey Johnson on his not guilty verdict at trial today! Joey is one hell of a lawyer. Glad to see justice served. Way to go, Joey!
