Probate: A Summary Administration qualifies if the estate has less than $75,000 in assets or the decedent pass away more than two years ago. However, the person applying for Summary Administration MAY become personally responsible for the decedent’s bills. If the assets are more than this or a recent decedent a process called Formal Administration must be followed and certain assets may be subject to the creditor claims (not the person applying for Formal Administration).
