Matt focuses his law practice in the area of commercial bankruptcy. He has extensive experience representing foreign and domestic companies, individual creditors, and other interested parties in commercial bankruptcy cases and related adversary proceeding litigation. He has defended hundreds of parties, from very small, privately owned businesses to Fortune 500 Companies, in preference adversary proceedings before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware with amounts in controversy ranging from less than $15,000 to in excess of $20 million.

Matt regularly represents secured and unsecured creditors including, but not limited to, trade vendors, manufacturers, food companies, apparel companies, landlords and tenants, contractors and subcontractors, advertising companies, banks, municipalities, insurers, steel companies, healthcare companies, consulting firms, sales agents, condominium and owners associations, utility companies, professional athletes, small businesses and other interested parties in chapter 11 and 7 bankruptcy cases. In 2015, he served as Delaware counsel to one of the U.S.'s largest privately owned companies in the $307 million asset purchase of a bankrupt printing and marketing company.

Andrew P. Lawson

Andrew assists our handling attorneys in developing solutions for individuals and business entities in bankruptcies, estate and wealth planning, litigation, and taxation. Andrew has experience in large scale litigation matters involving trusts and breaches of fiduciary duty, derivative actions, and intellectual property litigation.


While in law school, Andrew was Editor-in-Chief of the Villanova Environmental Law Journal where he oversaw a staff of over forty-five law students, while publishing more than 350 pages of scholarly articles. He also served as a student attorney in the Federal Tax Clinic where he represented low-income taxpayers in controversies before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the United States Tax Court. Additionally, Andrew worked for KPMG LLP in their Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Practice where he prepared tax opinions and studies relating to: § 382 studies, § 338(h)(10) and § 336 elections, reverse double dummy mergers, and Up-C transactions.

Jack is a commercial litigator with extensive experience in Chancery and Federal Court litigation.

In his litigation practice, Jack represents corporate and individual clients on a variety of issues related to board disputes, partnership dissolutions, shareholder derivative actions, breach of fiduciary duties, estate and trust litigation, guardianship actions, real estate, commercial law, employment and labor law, environmental law, mortgage and tax foreclosure, construction lien law, intellectual property and patent litigation.

In his bankruptcy practice, Jack has represented debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, secured parties, Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustees and liquidation agents, lenders, executives, plaintiffs and defendants in avoidance actions, fraudulent transfer and similar actions, including equipment, real and personal-property lessors.

Jack served as law clerk to the Honorable James D. Clyne, Presiding Judge of the Chancery Division, General Equity, Ocean County, New Jersey. At the invitation of Judge Neil Shuster, Presiding Judge of General Equity, Chancery Division in Mercer County, Jack addressed issues often encountered by incoming law clerks with respect to foreclosure aspects of the job as guest speaker at the General Equity Law Clerk orientation at the Hughes Justice complex in Trenton in Fall 2004.
