I am back assisting immigration clients at Aisen Law, PLLC. We are primarily handling habeas petitions and mandamus petitions along with providing guidance to U.S. Citizen clients who have questions about interactions with the Department of Homeland Security.

We, of course, also offer other services including assistance with traffic tickets, corporate formations, and offering referrals for personal injury cases and other matters.

Please give me a call if I can assist.

I am excited to announce that I am moving my immigration practice from Aisen Law, PLLC to Richards and Jurusik in an Of Counsel capacity. I will be focusing specifically on resolving immigration application delays and federal litigation.

Richards and Jurusik is an excellent firm, and provides excellent services to its clients from around the world. I am excited to offer our clients these additional services. I want to thank Jeremy Richards and Christine Jurusik for their gracious invitation and for the opportunity to work with them and their amazing team.

I will be continuing full-time at ECBA Volunteer Lawyers Project - VLP doing appeals and federal litigation, and I will continue to provide non-immigration related services to my clients through Aisen Law, PLLC.

Congratulations to my client who just got her green card after waiting years! The I-130 got approved pretty quickly. But the green card application languished. She made numerous inquiries and only received vague responses from different offices. No one even really knew where the file was.

When the case came to me, we made some inquires with the assistance of an AUSA. USCIS found the file, but discovered that the application and supporting documents were not with the file. No one was entirely sure where the application was. We then worked with the AUSA and USCIS to resubmit the required documents in an expedited fashion. USCIS reviewed it and just approved the green card! All of this took place in under two months.

My profoundest thanks to the Assistant U.S. Attorney who worked on this case for his professionalism and his assistance with making this happen. My thanks also goes to the USCIS officer who investigated this case and made it possible to get this done quickly after years of delays.

Did you know that that the Immigration and Nationality Act sets deadlines for the U.S. Government to process and decide asylum applications? Did you also know that the same section of the INA takes away the ability for an asylum seeker to personally enforce those deadlines? So, what are asylum seekers to do if their application has been pending for years with no end in sight.

In this post, I discuss how federal litigation might still be an option.

You came to America. You filed your asylum application on time. Now, several years have passed, and you have heard nothing. You might have heard about a section of the law that sets deadlines for the U.S. Government to decide your application. 8 U.S.C. § 1158(d)(5)(A) requires the U.S. Government, ...
