Equipping you with the tools you need to successfully navigate both the buying & selling process! While searching for a career path that aligned with my goals, I didn’t know if I was ever going to find my dream job. Fortunately, I took a chance and ended up creating an amazing life for myself and my family. It was an exciting and scary time starting the next chapter in my life. I didn’t know what
I wanted to do or what I wanted my future to look like. Leaving college, I had a degree in apparel design and marketing with a minor in business. Once I officially graduated, I realized it wasn’t going to be easy working in that industry when I lived in Wichita, Kansas. I didn’t know what I was going to do or how I was going to make money. It was scary thinking about going into the fashion industry because it would require me to move to New York. Freshly out of college, I did not have the money to afford such an expensive city. A friend of mine approached me one day and said I should apply to the retail store where she worked because she could easily recommend me for a position. I applied and was hired on as an assistant manager. At the time, I was making more money than I ever had. Over the span of several years, I managed several retail stores. As I continued to work in retail, I finally reached a point where I knew I couldn’t do it for the rest of my life. I worked all the time and often on the weekends as well. It was really starting to wear on me. I didn’t feel fulfilled or like I was pursuing a passion. One day I was driving down Andover Road when a big sign read, “Want to get your real estate license?” Something about it immediately caught my attention. I could envision myself helping people find homes, doing showings and offering staging advice. It seemed like it just might be the perfect fit. My marketing knowledge and creativity would help me be a successful REALTOR®. I scheduled myself for a weeklong vacation from work and took my real estate class and exam in that time. From 2003 on I was off to the races establishing myself as a REALTOR®. Ironically, I began hosting open houses every Sunday. I used to hate working weekends, but being a REALTOR® is so rewarding that it doesn’t even feel like work. I enjoy connecting with people and helping them through their real estate journey. I hit a milestone moment when I bought my first home in 2008. Unfortunately, that was also when the market started to shift across the nation. I had invested all my savings into the house. Was it all going to go away so quickly? I managed to get by through the connections I made with clients and my parents’ occasional help. Around 2011, everything started to pick up again, and I was so happy I was able to stay in the industry through the difficult times. I am so grateful for the direction I chose to take my career. It may have been scary at first, but I have come to realize it was the best choice I could have made. While I didn’t have a family when I started my journey, I now have the flexibility to spend time with my husband and two sons more than I ever would have if I worked in retail. My career has truly been a gift in more ways than I ever could have expected. When I am not working, I enjoy going to my sons’ sporting events and having book club (wink, wink) with my friends. The best part about being a REALTOR® is being able to create lasting connections with people. I want to know your story and how I can help you in the next step of your journey. Many of my clients are still friends to this day because we work so closely together. I provide consistent communication and am ready at a moment’s notice to help you whenever you may need it. My background in marketing and design gives me an advantage when looking at homes or prepping a home to sell. With nearly two decades of experience, I have the skills and knowledge to get winning results. Whether you are buying or selling, it can be a stressful process. I try to make your experience as fun as possible while still providing my professional advice. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to support you as your lifelong REALTOR® and friend.
