To those concerned regarding my recent medical diagnosis: I will STILL be practicing law. I am still taking new clients. I will have to take some days off and a longer “vacation” of less than 3 weeks. However, I will still be working your cases, handling your court filings, speaking via over the phone, FaceTime or if I do feel well enough during that break and I am permitted by doctors, I will meet you at my office. God, my family & friends, and my clients give me reasons to continue to be the strong woman so many people say I am. I’ve been through worse. Actually, I’ll go crazy if I am not working and using my brain, so to my future clients and clients, I’m going to fight for you as tough as I am fighting this stupid cancer.

2022 was a good year. I felt welcomed into the little town of Whitesburg, Kentucky and I went out solo starting my own firm. Decided that if I continued to work for someone else, either salary or as an independent contractor, I was only helping the person I was working for achieve their dreams. It was a scary cross in the road being coming out of the pandemic and having, living somewhere I knew no one (I didn’t even know of this town until 2020) and the stark reality that when starting out on your own in law, or any other business, chances are good you will not even break even for the first couple of years. I want to thank everyone who trusted in me to help them through some of the most stressful times of their lives, the referrals, the prayers, and the community for not writing me off because no one had ever heard of me before in that area.
I will continue to decide to handle your cases evaluating and giving you the truth-whether it be good or bad. Even though I will continue handling a variety of legal matter, I am happy to say that I can focus primarily on criminal law. My love and passion has always been with criminal law- whether I am the prosecutor or the defense attorney. It is a person’s right and the police’s job to not trample over those rights just to make an arrest. My good friends I made while working as a prosecutor can attest that I got in trouble on more than one occasion for sending back warrants, reports, dismissing (even though I was suppose to get approval) cases, fiercely prosecuting cases my employers wanted swept under the rug, kicking them to a lower court and just doing what I took an oath to do, approval or not. I’ve always been a person who has never sought approval nor been intimidated by anyone. I loved the courtroom since Day 1.
I am looking forward to what 2023 brings me both personally and professionally. Starting off there are several legal cases I am handling that are cases of first impression meaning the interpretation of law is presented in a case which has never arisen before in any reported case - whether it just be statewide or nationally.
Thank you and have a safe & happy New Year. If, for some reason you find yourself getting arrested tonight, give me a call at 606-303-2831 or just ask around for my number when you get to the jail 😂 I receive more daily calls from there than from robocalls.

I’ll be in the Belfry area this weekend. If you want to meet me with any type of relief supplies for Letcher Co, I can take it back on Sunday. This area is beyond devastated. I wasn’t born for when the ‘77 flood hid the Williamson area but I imagine this flood’s effects will be felt for years to come.

Please share. For those unaware, I am NO longer associated with attorney Greg Baker or his law practice in any way. I own my own law practice, Jennifer L. Taylor - Attorney at Law - Whitesburg. It is a PLLC. The telephone number is 606-403-1222. My wonderful legal assistant is Patty Wood. For those who like my Attorney Jennifer "Jenny" Taylor page or my previous page from my former office in Pikeville associated with Greg Baker, I would appreciate you liking my listed Whitesburg page in the page listed above as that page contains the most updated information. There will be NO updates on the Pikeville page associated with Greg Baker regarding my law practice.
My personal office has added an additional practice area of bringing legal actions against local, county, state and federal agencies when so warranted. We believe in “rocking the boat” when people have valid claims against government agencies instead of not wanting to upset the way things have been done just because “It has always been done that way.” We ask questions, we demand answers and our goal is to hold those who are have not been held accountable to be accountable in both civil and criminal actions.
