Big update in the Omegle litigation: the bankruptcy trustee has moved to bring in the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) — a nonprofit child-safety organization — to review data Omegle retained on its platform for CSAM before the estate is wound down. A credible third party review means potential evidence is being handled responsibly, professionally, and by people with trauma-informed, specialized tools — which matters both practically and in showing the court is taking the claims seriously.

Omegle wasn't just shut down — its records didn't disappear, and now a credible child-safety organization is being brought in specifically to comb through them.

This is happening because survivors and their families never stopped pushing. Attorney Hillary Nappi has been one of the lawyers representing Omegle survivors for years — including C.H., the first child to sue Omegle back in 2021 — helping keep pressure on this platform long before it went dark and through the fight for accountability since. That’s what actually protects kids going forward.

Hillary Nappi, lead attorney at AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys, was featured in Law.com's "How I Made Law Firm Leadership" series this month, marking one year since she built AWK SAA into a dedicated national practice for survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and exploitation.

In the piece, Hillary reflected on what it took to grow a survivor-focused practice from the ground up, describing how the full resources and litigation infrastructure of Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz allow her team to give every survivor individualized, trauma-informed care. She also reflected on what it takes to lead in this work. "Do the work so well that the question of leadership answers itself," Hillary said.

AWK SAA is proud to be a sponsor of the 2026 NCMEC HOPE Gala, one of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's most powerful evenings of the year.

Taking place on September 16th in Washington, D.C., the HOPE Gala brings together survivors, advocates, law enforcement, and leaders from across the country united by one mission: protecting children.

For over 40 years, NCMEC has led the fight to find missing children, support families in crisis, and prevent exploitation. Supporting their work is a natural extension of what we do every day of standing up for those who need it most.

We look forward to joining this community on September 16th.

Do you know what grooming looks like in the eyes of the law?

Attorney Chris Klotz breaks down exactly what grooming means from a legal standpoint—and why understanding it matters for survivors seeking justice.

Grooming is not just a buzzword. It is a calculated pattern of behavior used to manipulate and exploit victims, and it has serious legal implications for those who engage in it.

At AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys, we believe that knowledge is power. The more you know, the better equipped you are to recognize it, report it, and fight back.

These numbers represent real people, real children, whose lives were changed forever.

S*x trafficking is not a distant issue. It is happening in our communities, on our screens, and in the systems designed to protect our most vulnerable.

At AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys, we believe every survivor deserves justice, no matter how broken the system that failed them. If you or someone you know has been affected, you do not have to face this alone.

The foster care system was built to protect children. But for too many, the danger did not stop at the front door.

These numbers tell a story of systemic failure— one that demands accountability, awareness, and action. Behind every percentage is a child who deserved better.

At AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys, we fight for survivors who were let down by the very systems meant to keep them safe. Justice is possible, and you do not have to fight for it alone.

As you head back to campus, the reality of sexual violence in college settings is something every student needs to understand before they arrive.

The numbers are hard to ignore, and even harder to look away from once you know them.

Awareness is not meant to create fear. It is meant to create change. Because when students are informed, they are empowered to protect themselves and the people around them.

At AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys, we fight for every survivor who deserved better. You are not alone.
