February 22, 2024 was my 47th anniversary as a member of the New York State Bar.

02/22/2023

Today marks my 46th year as an admitted attorney. Proud to report I am still active, representing clients in state and federal courts; trying cases; and handling business and personal matters in a variety of circumstances.

It appears my professional email has been hacked. If you receive an email about a mortgage application, do not open it. It is not from me!

Trying a homicide case is always stressful. It is particularly so when you think your client did not commit the crime. Such was the case during my last case which ended in an acquittal for my client. It was gratifying to walk out of the courtroom with my client, who had been incarcerated since his arrest over three years ago. It was especially gratifying to see the entire jury waiting in the lobby to wish him well. Some even waited to speak with me. My client told one of the jurors: “Rest easy, with no regrets.” Justice was served.

On this date 45 years ago (2/22/1977) I was admitted as an attorney in New York State. This year I get to mark the occasion by commencing a homicide trial in Bronx County Supreme Court.

Started a homicide trial in Bronx Supreme Court. Always a stressful time, more so now in the age of COVID. But also exhilarating. But what I found particularly enjoyable
today was, after two years away, bantering with Antonio and Manny, the garage attendants; hanging in the attorney lounge with my colleagues; saying hello to a detective I had worked with years ago; and getting my cup of coffee for the ride home and being greeted warmly by the waitress who remembered how I take it.

Proud to have been elected to a fourth term as VP of the 12th District (Bronx County) of the NYSBA House of Delegates and Executive Committee.

01/22/2022

Congratulations to Steve Millon, Sam Braverman and Rene Hill on their election to the NYSBA House of Delegates for the 2022-23 Year.

01/19/2022

Participating in the NYSBA Annual Meeting. This year, once again being held remotely.

06/11/2021

Once again proud to representing Bronx County at the Executive Committee Meeting of the New York State Bar Association.

01/30/2021

Proud to report that I have been elected to a third term as VP of the 12th District (Bronx County) at the New York State Bar Association ‘s Annual House of Delegates’ Meeting. I look forward to working with the Bronx contingent: Steve Millon; Sam Braverman; Adam Sheldon, elected representatives, and Bronx County Bar Assoc. appointed representatives, Rene Hill and Sue McElwreath and the elected officers of NYSBA in 2021/22.

The bar association virtually never removes someone's membership before they have been disbarred; the last example of such a removal is believed to be more than a century ago, a spokeswoman said.
