- Buying bedding, a laptop and mini-fridge may be on your list of things to do before your child heads off to college. But consider this. You are not sending a child away. You are sending a legal adult. Your child is now 18 and though you may be paying the tuition bill, your access to information and decision-making is now limited. While your child is miles away, the college may not allow you to access health care information, educational records and grades. You also may not learn about disciplinary issues before it is too late to remedy them.

Attention NY drivers. DMV has implemented a lot of new rules, related to points, suspensions and revocations. For example: Drivers will now PERMANENTLY lose their driving privileges after four drug- or alcohol-related convictions or incidents, such as failure to submit to a chemical test.

New NY law automatically seals most convictions.

The bill excludes the most serious criminal convictions like murder, s*x crimes and most class A felonies, except those related to drug possession.

New laws affect your credit card sales

Attention Business Owners! if you have not heard, effective January 1, 2024, new federal regulations require certain businesses to submit a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report to FinCEN, combating illicit activities. Report includes owner details like names, addresses, birthdays, and identification numbers.
Filing Deadlines:
- Pre-2024 Businesses: January 1, 2025
- 2024-2025: 90 days from formation notice
- Post-2025: 30 days from formation notice
