Attention lawyer and litigant friends, the Illinois Supreme Court issued an order yesterday allowing each local circuit court to decide when and how to reopen its doors for in-person trials and hearings. The Court urged the lower courts to do so responsibly, and to still use remote hearings as frequently as possible.

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois’ 24 chief judges can decide when to reopen courthouses across the state to in-person proceedings, the state Supreme Court ordered Wednesday.
