After more than a decade of dedicated service to the DuPage County Bar Association, it's time to celebrate an incredible career and an exciting new chapter.

Join us on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Attorney Resource Center as we honor Barb Mendralla and wish her well on her retirement.

For the past 7 years, Barb has served as the DCBA's Director of Continuing Legal Education, playing an instrumental role in the professional development of our members. During her role as CLE Director, she organized an astounding 1,215 educational programs and helped deliver more than 1,500 hours of CLE.

Barb's dedication, organization, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting impact on the DCBA and the legal community. While we will certainly miss her, we are grateful for all she has accomplished and excited to celebrate this well-earned next chapter.

A reminder from our Attorney Wellness Section for the week ahead:

Growth doesn’t happen through constant criticism. It happens through patience, self-awareness, and small steps forward.

Taking time to recognize progress, quiet negative self-talk, and practice self-compassion can strengthen both confidence and resilience over time.

Start this week by giving yourself credit for how far you’ve already come.

Last week, we swore in our 2026-2027 DCBA President, Harold W. Conick and recognized Jason Wilkins as our Lawyer of the Year and Joe Fortunato as our Ralph Gabric Award Recipient.

We have a lot to look forward to this upcoming year, and we are excited to continue building meaningful connections, strengthening our community, and creating opportunities that inspire growth for generations to come.

In a profession where the pace rarely slows down, taking care of yourself can easily fall to the bottom of the list.

But wellness doesn’t have to mean making major changes overnight. Sometimes, the smallest habits make the biggest difference , stepping outside for fresh air, taking a quick stretch break, clearing your workspace, or simply pausing to breathe.

This week, challenge yourself to make one small change that helps you feel more focused, grounded, and recharged.

Because when we take care of ourselves, we show up stronger for our clients, colleagues, and community.

Happy Mindful Monday, from our Chair and Vice Chair of our Attorney Wellness Section.
