Hey teens and parents/guardians! We are extending the registration deadline for our first ever “Traffic Stop Practice for Newly Licensed Drivers” event to next Wednesday, May 27th! We still have seats open and encourage any newly licensed drivers to sign up!
We're excited to be teaming up with the Branford Police Department and North Branford Police Department for this educational event which will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 9AM-12PM at Guilford High School (605 New England Rd.)
The program will consist of two parts: Starting at 9AM, a slideshow presentation held in the Guilford High School library, followed by mock traffic stops in the school parking lot.
What You'll Learn 👮♂️👮
🚗 What to do when you see the flashing lights (and what NOT to do)
🚙 Possible outcomes of a traffic stop
🚗 What to do if you're involved in a traffic crash
🚙 About CT's Blue, Green, and Yellow Envelope Programs
The mock traffic stop will then show new drivers first hand how a traffic stop plays out in real life.
This event is free and open to any newly licensed drivers residing in Guilford, Branford, and North Branford. Drivers must have a valid driver's license or learner's permit, must attend with a parent or guardian, and must bring their valid license/permit, vehicle registration, and insurance card to the event.
➡️ Click the link in the comments below or visit guilfordpd.com to register by Saturday, May 23rd (registration is required).
