This more than doubles the number of women in service during the year of 1980. Before 1980 women were typically used for cooking, cleaning, laundry, nurses, etc. As the rules changed to allow more women the opportunity to fight in battle and join military academies, there has been much higher female enrollment. A big thank you to all of our women who have served and continue to do so to help keep America free.

Congratulations to Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson for being the FIRST hands-on medical doctor named Secretary Department of Veterans Affairs in documented history. President Trump said “He has seen firsthand the tremendous sacrifice our veterans make and has a deep appreciation for the debt our great country owes them.” Prior to this opportunity Rear Admiral Jackson served in the Navy and then 2nd Marines Combat Logistics Regiment 25; deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; as the emergency medicine physician in charge of resuscitation medicine for a surgical shock trauma platoon.
