My friends Rob and Sovi who are both realtors in the Dominican Republic are former New Jersey residents. Rob is a retired First Responder (Police Officer) and Sovi was a Realtor in NJ. Both now live full time in DR.

A few months ago tragedy struck their residence where a fire broke out and caused significant damage, thankfully the quick response by the Sousa Fire Department saved their Villa.

Rob reached out to me as the Sousa Fire Department lacks proper equipment and asked if I knew of anyone who might donate equipment.

I reached out to my friend Jose Espinal as he is part of this 911 Fund who is a non profit which donate emergency equipment and supplies to Latin countries in need.

I connected Rob and Jose and through conversations equipment was able to be donated.

Rob and Sovi paid for all the shipping expenses to make sure the equipment made it safely.

Full turnout gear was donated to equip 10 firefighters. This will ensure the safety of the men and woman who protect and serve on the Sousa Fire Department and continue to safely provide fire services to the residents and its visitors.

A small tragedy turned into a good deed.
