🎙️ A LESSON FROM MY CONVERSATION WITH JOEL VELIS
One of the things I admire most about Joel is his consistency.
Like many great agents, Joel approaches his business with a prospecting mentality. He understands that if you want to build a pipeline, you have to put yourself in front of people consistently. You have to make the calls, have the conversations, and create opportunities.
But here’s what separates the good from the great:
People can tell when you’re genuinely trying to help them.
Consumers today are smarter than ever. They know when someone is chasing a commission, and they know when someone truly cares about helping them make the right decision.
The funny thing is, genuine care and prospecting aren’t opposites. In fact, they work together.
You can be proactive.
You can follow up.
You can stay top of mind.
But if your intention is truly to serve, people feel that.
That’s how Joel has built relationships over the years. Not through pressure. Not through gimmicks. Through consistency, patience, and a sincere desire to help people reach their goals.
I’ve found the same thing in my own career.
Some of the biggest opportunities I’ve ever received didn’t come from a lead I converted in 30 days. They came from relationships that took months or even years to develop.
That’s why we run our business the way we do.
We stay in touch.
We provide value.
We educate.
We show up.
And then we trust the process.
Because real estate isn’t about winning the transaction.
It’s about winning the relationship.
The transaction may happen today, six months from now, or five years from now. But when people know you genuinely care, they’ll remember you when the time comes.
Consistency gets you noticed.
Patience builds trust.
Genuine care creates clients for life.
That’s a formula that never goes out of style.
