Pro Bono Spotlight: Attorney Victoria Carbone

Attorney Victoria Carbone is a partner at Callahan Inman, a firm specializing in divorce and family law with offices throughout the Commonwealth. Attorney Carbone has experience in both trial and appellate proceedings and has also represented parents and children in care and protection proceedings in the Juvenile Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court as a member of the private panel of the Children and Family Law Division (CAFL) of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). In 2025 and 2026, Attorney Carbone was part of the inaugural cohort of the Women’s Executive Academy, a program offered by the Graduate School at Nicholas College in partnership with the Worcester Business Journal geared towards supporting emerging women leaders in Worcester County. Attorney Carbone also received the Worcester County Bar Association President’s Award in June 2026.

Attorney Carbone joined Community Legal Aid’s (CLA) pro bono panel in the fall of 2024 and quickly became one of CLA’s most loyal volunteers. Despite her heavy litigation schedule, Attorney Carbone volunteers regularly for CLA’s Worcester Probate and Family Court Lawyer for the Day, a program that takes place weekly on Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm in the Registry of the Worcester Probate and Family Court. This program relies 100% on volunteer support to meet the high demand of pro se litigants seeking assistance in their family law matters. Attorney Carbone provides invaluable counsel and advice and drafting assistance to low-income individuals who often do not know where to turn or what to do in their family law matter. When meeting with litigants, many of whom are in crisis, she treats each individual with the patience and compassion that we all deserve when facing turmoil and provides high quality advice and consultation while doing so.

When asked to describe what motivates her to commit so much time to pro bono work with Community Legal Aid, Attorney Carbone explained:

“Access to justice is an issue close to my heart. Early in my practice, I represented parties in care and protection proceedings at both the trial and appellate level. My clients faced multiple systemic hurdles as their lives became intertwined with the justice and child welfare systems, many of which stemmed from socioeconomic challenges. This experience helped me develop a compassionate approach to advocacy and has driven me to dedicate a portion of my practice to advising underserved communities. That is why I enjoy volunteering with CLA’s Family Lawyer for the Day program. Through volunteering, I feel I can put my legal skills to use in a meaningful and impactful way. CLA’s mission to improve the lives of low-income individuals through accessible legal assistance resonates with me, and I feel honored to have the opportunity to do my own small part towards furthering that mission by offering my time.”

It is the consistency and support of volunteers like Attorney Carbone who keep programs like Worcester’s Probate and Family Court LFD program running. Thank you, Attorney Carbone, for your commitment to pro bono and contribution to expanding access to justice to the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable.
