The Township of Scugog, in partnership with North Durham PRIDE, is thrilled to welcome you to a FREE and inclusive skate this February at the Scugog Arena!

We’re turning down the lights, turning up the music and lighting up the rink with glow sticks!

Come dressed in your brightest, boldest, most colourful outfits and enjoy:

Our awesome town of Port Perry is used in quite a bit of film and TV shows, here’s a great scene at The Piano Inn and Cafe from the fantastic show Reacher on Prime. We usually sit around the same spot that they are sitting in 🤣

There’s been a change to our recycling pickup provider as of January 2026, and I know it can be confusing to keep up with what goes where.

The upside? We can recycle more than before.
I created a simple cheat sheet to help break it down.

Recycling Pick up has changed! Take a look for Scugog!

Bags used for dry cleaning, bread, newspapers and flyers. Overwrap (paper towel & toilet paper, beverage containers). Coffee bags or deli pouches, chip bags, bubble wrap, snack wrappers, cereal liner bags, plastic gift bags.

Please be advised the Township of Scugog is under a Snow Squall Watch beginning Thursday morning, November 27, into Saturday, November 29.

With expected snowfall amounts of 15 to 30cm and near zero visibility at times due to blowing snow, it is important to always be aware of your surroundings and exercise caution when driving.

Join us Friday, November 28th for our Annual Tree Lighting & Candlelit Walk — an evening of twinkling lights, festive carols, and holiday spirit. From the Christmas Market at the Latcham Centre to music, crafts, and a cozy bonfire in Palmer Park, it’s a night to remember for the whole family.
