Happy Labor Day from all of us at Vassallo, Bilotta, Bubis & Davis! 🇺🇸
As Workers' Compensation Attorneys, Labor Day is an important and special holiday. It reminds us of the difficult working conditions that some workers endured during the Industrial Revolution including unsafe conditions, lack of breaks, 12 hour work days, 7 days per week, and very low wages. As a result of a strike from railroad workers protesting the poor working conditions and labor unions fighting for the workers, Labor Day was created a National Holiday to honor American workers. Hopefully, on this Labor day, we will recognize and remember the need to continue to pass laws that protect and improve the lives of all working Americans.

At Vassallo, Bilotta, Bubis & Davis, we continue to help those who have been hurt at work. When on the job accidents and injuries happen, we fight for and protect the injured worker by ensuring they receive all benefits they are legally entitled to.

We celebrate Juneteenth—the historical day in 1865 when the US military arrived in the state of Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 and end illegal slavery. Juneteenth is also a reminder that the end of slavery didn't happen overnight. It took almost 2 1/2 years for laws ending slavery to be enforced. It took US troops to stop slavery in Texas and other confederate states. We are grateful for this significant historical day and for the annual reminder of what it took to end slavery. On Juneteenth, we remember the end of slavery and freedom for all.
