☀️Summer may have come to an end, but in Florida, pool season lasts almost year-round. That also means pool owners need to stay mindful of safety and liability.

💧 Did you know? Under Florida law, property owners can be held responsible for swimming pool accidents caused by things like:

- Lack of supervision (especially when children are involved)
- Poor maintenance (slippery decks, murky water, broken ladders)
- Defective equipment (drains, pumps, or safety covers)
- Missing barriers or fencing (required by Florida’s Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act)

🏊 Because pools are considered an “attractive nuisance” in Florida, owners have a duty to take reasonable steps to keep everyone safe, even if they aren’t invited guests.

Accidents can happen quickly, but prevention is key. If you’re a pool owner, make sure your pool meets Florida’s safety requirements. If you or a loved one has been injured in a pool-related accident, knowing your rights is the first step to recovery.
