Think child support is permanent? Not exactly.
In Florida, child support can be modified but only if there’s a real change in circumstances.
That might mean:
• A major change in income
• An involuntary job loss
• A shift in time-sharing
• New medical or school expenses
Here’s what surprises most people 👇
The change usually has to equal at least 15% or $50 difference from the current amount.
And you cannot go back and fix it later.
Support can only be modified from the date you file.
Waiting can cost you.
Even if both parents agree to adjust it, court approval is still required to make it legally enforceable.
Life changes. Orders can too.
But only if you take action.
