After a six-hour jury deliberation that concluded at 11pm last night, our team received a significant verdict on behalf of our client.

The jury returned Not Guilty verdicts on the following charges:

• Trafficking in Fentanyl (a charge carrying a 15-year minimum mandatory sentence and up to 30 years)
• Possession of Co***ne
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The evidence did not support that these items belonged to our client, and after careful consideration, the jury agreed.

Our client was convicted only of a misdemeanor DUI and was sentenced to credit time served and probation.

We are grateful for the jury’s time and attention, and we are proud of the advocacy and preparation that went into presenting this case. Ensuring that the State meets its burden of proof is a cornerstone of our justice system, and yesterday, that standard was upheld.

✨ CASE DISMISSED ✨

Since day one, Attorney Taylor McDermid’s client maintained her innocence. Taylor rejected the State’s “first time offender” offer and pressed forward with a motion to suppress. This week, the judge granted the motion, and the State dismissed the DUI charges. ⚖️

After litigating a violation of probation hearing a few weeks ago, Attorney Bryan Savy received the judge’s ruling last week dismissing the violations. Our client, who was facing up to life in prison, can now move forward without that burden.

🚨 CASE DISMISSED! 🚨

A few weeks ago, Partner Bryan Savy successfully argued a Motion to Suppress in a DUI case, convincing the Court that law enforcement lacked reasonable suspicion to detain his client for a DUI investigation. Today, that win became final when the State dismissed the case.

Another one! ⚖️ Partner Bryan Savy, with the help of associate Taylor McDermid, fought hard and got another motion to suppress granted after police unconstitutionally coerced our client into a confession. Now, their statements are out, and the State’s case is significantly weaker. Protecting constitutional rights one motion at a time!

🚨 BIG WIN IN COURT! 🚨

Partner Bryan Savy with the assistance of associate Taylor McDermid successfully fought to protect our client’s constitutional rights by getting a motion to suppress granted based on an illegal search. With this ruling, the State is now unable to proceed on four felony charges, including trafficking in fentanyl, a first-degree felony carrying a 20 year mandatory minimum sentence.

The Constitution matters, and we will always stand up against unlawful searches and government overreach. Your rights are worth fighting for. ⚖️

2024 was a year of hard-fought battles and meaningful victories in the pursuit of justice—none of which would have been possible without the incredible teamwork here at Michael Bross & Bryan Savy, PLLC. Together, we achieved:

💥 4 Not guilty verdicts: second-degree murder, battery, and possession of fentanyl (where the judge also dismissed the sale charge based on a judgment of acquittal).
💥 A trial for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon where charges were dismissed by the judge before the jury even deliberated.
💥 Multiple motions to suppress granted, leading to case dismissals.
💥 Favorable resolutions for clients, including avoiding felony convictions and getting the state to dismiss charges altogether.
