The Purdue Women's Club was established on March 16, 1922 as a social organization for faculty wives and female faculty members. Today, the Purdue Women's Club has broadened its focus and opened membership to all women in the community who have an interest in Purdue University and the greater Lafayette area. PWC is an officially recognized organization of Purdue University and is a member of the Conference of Big Ten Women's Organizations.

Short Stories Group met on a rainy May afternoon. Sharon had prepared her sunroom to entertain the group. Discussion focused on two stories: The Girl Who Left her Sock on the Floor by Eisenberg and The Twenty-Seventh Man by Englander. Group Chair Sandra Burbank wrote a lovely description of the meeting. All returned home carrying “the quiet satisfaction of having shared stories, ideas, and companionship on a rainy afternoon.”

Educational Excursion chairs, Karen Pinto and Yvonne Whelan, planned a great trip to Indianapolis to the impressive Scottish Rite Cathedral, the beautiful Decorators’ Show House and famous German restaurant, The Rathskeller. Thirty-two members filled the bus ready for adventure. Beautiful weather accompanied them and no one had to worry about parking.
