The Constitution of the United States was made not merely for the generation that then existed, but for posterity – unlimited, undefined, endless, perpetual posterity.

📢 We're calling on Hoosiers to take action. 📢 Lawmakers just quietly slipped an amendment into HB 1359 that would cut Indiana’s early voting nearly in half — from 28 days to 16 — and Hoosiers didn’t even get a chance to testify.

Less early voting means longer Election Day lines, fewer options for working Hoosiers, and bigger barriers in communities where voting already takes more time. In 2024, nearly 1 in 3 Hoosiers voted early. Indiana’s turnout is already near the bottom nationally. We should be expanding access, not shrinking it.

There isn’t much for our Supreme Court to hear, the Constitution is already clear. And just to be absolutely clear: the Supreme Court does not have the power to overrule or rewrite our Constitution.

The League of Women Voters (LWVUS) has joined as a national partner for No Kings 2 rallies scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025. League members are encouraged (but not required) to engage locally and participate in activations with trusted partners in a nonpartisan manner. Local Leagues who decide to mobilize for No Kings 2 are encouraged to refer to Protest Safety Guidance information provided on the LWVUS Management Site. If representing the League and wearing LWV attire, please use good judgement in creating signs that are nonpartisan. LWVUS will be providing additional guidance in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can find the location of the closest organized rally here: https://www.nokings.org/

If you plan to join a protest on the 18th, or any time, know that non-violent civil resistance is the most successful way to defeat authoritarianism. Stay safe.

The 50501 Movement represents millions of people all over the country who have chosen peaceful demonstration as their response to what they see as threats to democratic institutions.

October 18th is predicted to be our largest coordinated action yet. Our commitment to peaceful, lawful protest remains unchanged.
