Update on the government’s new policy for granting Adjustment of Status in Immigration Cases

While the news about the new guidance for granting adjustment of status cases is concerning, we still don't know exactly how the policy will be implemented or who it will affect.

As you can imagine, there has already been a lot of pushback, and many legal and advocacy groups are gearing up to fight this memo.

Time will tell how the policy will be implemented and how best to respond to the new guidance.

We will continue to assess the situation so that when your adjustment of status interview is scheduled, we can advise you on how to proceed at that time.

Are you planning to leave the country by land (not on a flight) to attend your Immigrant Visa Interview abroad? We recommend NOT traveling by land through Texas, as there have been some reports of CBP (Customs and Border Protection) detaining people in El Paso. When traveling, be sure to keep your appointment notice easily accessible to CBP or ICE in case you are stopped on the way out of the country.
